The drilling platform is a floating construction supplied with a drilling device, and having been anchored properly, is intended for making wells in the sea/ocean bottom. Now and then, it is used for exploitation of such underwater deposits as natural gas and oil.
The semisubmersible production platform is a construction resting mainly on the sea bottom, occasionally floating, assigned for exploitation of natural resources. It delivers natural gas and oil hidden in the sea bottom, pre-refines and forwards it by means of an underwater pipeline or in a floating barrel to tankers.
